The Little Demon Cometh!!!

UNO Bicycle Studio is super stoked to be Tucson's Exclusive dealer for VASSAGO CYCLES!  This little demon pictured is the 2010 Vassago Jabberwocky. If you don't know Vassago, you will soon enough! These fine folks know how to design a 29 hardtail that rides like a dream, and is AFFORDABLE! They are a company that makes only 29ers. They are not a "Me Too" company that makes 29ers, because, "everyone else makes them, so I guess we should too"! They are not a big box, cookie cutter, bike company that we loath. They don't also make ski's, goggles, clothing, etc., etc., crap. Vassago makes 5 models, all big wheels, and keep the focus simple: Make kick ass bikes, that you can afford. I cannot tell you how excited I am to carry this sweet, sweet brand at the Studio and get people on them! The bike pictured is built up modestly and sensibly with Surly disc hubs, Avid BB7 disc brakes, SLX crank, Thomson post, Truvativ bar and stem, etc. It looks sweet, and rides great. We will have another one built up soon. Stay tuned. Two last things, Wikipedia Vassago, and click on the pics to enlarge them! Ta ta.

The 24 Hours of the Old Pueblo!

On Febuary 13-14, was an epic fun time for a 4 man Singlespeeder team known as "The Cacti Crusaders". We competed in the 24 Hours of the Old Pueblo. Which in this young man's opinion is the finest 24 hour race in the United States. What a blast we had! Myself, Tall Paul, Randy, and Stoli made up this team of goofballs. Our Goal: To have fun, ride somewhere around twelve laps, and really to just survive. The great thing about the whole deal was we all rode well. The course was a super fun 17 mile loop with a great mixture of climbs, descents, and lots of cactus! It was a fast course in my opinion and we wound up doing 16 laps at 4 laps each! Turns out,  I was sick with a sinus infection, and Bronchitis of which I did not know at the time of the race only to find out after with my doctor! I actually felt better when I was riding and felt like hell when I wasn't.  DUSTY, DUSTY ride, which didn't help my situation! If you see a lung out there I coughed up, please return it to me! That was the only part of the race that sucked, but I'm nit-picking here. Pictured are a couple of shots of the chaos and our bag of goodies to keep our legs fresh and recovery at a maximum. Don't worry, no EPO here!! We will be back next year and I want to beat our 16 laps we did this year. Peace.

A New YETI...and a Pug!

Today was a fine day at the Studio. Building new bikes, recovering from the 24 Hours of the Old Pueblo(more on that later), meeting new people, and then getting Jed his new YETI !!! Jed, has visited the Studio many times and we have become fast friends and riding buddies. Jed, literally has been looking at getting a new bike for the last "couple of years!" he decided on this sweet 575 in matte black. Considering how long Jed's search was, I feel extremely honored he chose UNO Bicycle Studio as his destination for his new machine! Thanks a ton, Jed! Now go get it dirty! Also pictured is Jed's Pug, Ozzy! This little Pugster is always at Jed's side and loves coming into the Studio to stir things up! Hey, we love bike maniacs and dogs too! It is about building relationships here at the Studio, with folks who love bikes and making them smile (see pic! :-)) Come on in, and leave smiling! Namaste.
